The little town of Thessalon is in a picturesque setting on the north shore of Lake Huron. Amenities are within walking distance In Thessalon: banking, grocery shopping, Post Office, pharmacy, bakery, LCBO, the Legion, tennis courts, curling club, library and the marina. There are also several nice restaurants. You may never want to leave!

    A government grant has ensured the town with safe, sanitary municipal water delivery from a new treatment plant. Garbage pickup includes recycling every week. Our 2011 taxes were $2,200. A dog tag is five bucks. Last year’s oil heating totalled $1,490 (including heating the garage).

    There is a helpful and friendly doctor’s clinic right on Main Street with a chiropractic office right next door. Thessalon also has its own full service hospital as well as an ambulance service with easy access to Sault Ste. Marie hospital and specialists.

    Our 3 bedroom, 1.5 baths, brick bungalow is 1420 sq. feet, with a paved driveway on a 66' lot. The house is approximately 15 years old, maintenance free – with vinyl windows, aluminum soffit and fascia, forced air oil furnace, air exchanger, laminate in livingroom and diningroom, carpet in the bedrooms, and ceramic tile in kitchen, bathroom and mudroom. There is also a Jacuzzi bathtub and dishwasher. The laundry room/mud room has a 2 piece washroom off the kitchen right by the back door. The crawlspace is tall enough you can stand erect by the furnace/storage area with the balance 4 ft. high. There is a 2.5 car detached heated garage/studio. The lot is nicely landscaped with a variety of trees, and comes with your very own hot tub.

    We have a great view of the north shore of Lake Huron from the living room, front porch, and especially from the hot tub. We can even see the marina from the front porch. Marina seasonal fees are approx. $14 per foot (for a resident family) and include use of the new clubhouse and all its facilities.

    Salmon fishing begins in early June on the lake. Lots of inland lakes nearby for trout, bass or walleye. There is the Thessalon river that runs through town which is used for trolling, kayaking and canoeing. Miles of snow mobile trails to take you to some of the other towns. A quaint, interesting rod and gun club is just north of town in Little Rapids. Golfing is two miles east on the highway with senior’s rates available. Seniors also enjoy Friday afternoon curling at Thessalon’s curling rink. Anterless deer tags are available for the area and bird hunting is just north of town up the 129 highway.

    Yes, we had looked into Elliott Lake before we came here but it is a long drive in from highway 17 into Elliot Lake, which would mean an even further drive to Lake Huron.

    At the reduced price of $179,900, you can get both the house lot (66 x 132) and the adjacent serviced vacant lot (also 66 x 132), and we are flexible about a moving date.

    We are on a non thru street at 42 Lorne Street east. Turn east at the municipal office corner off Main St.
